ABOUT OKKIE JOOSTER
Okkie Jooste cultural center was established in 1974 and is situated on the banks of the upper region of Eerste River in the picturesque Jonkershoek Vally east of Stellenbosch next to the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. It is the most popular facility under the control of the cultural Commission. It is a spectacular setting amongst the towering Boland mountains.
THE EXPERIENCE
We studied nature as a whole..studying different types of organisms on land and in the aquatics...we went o a 3 hour hike ( near death experience)..we went to trap mammals, catching a few of different mice..which was pretty much exciting but the excitement ended when some on the trapped mammals were found dead..We went night walking and just expanded our knowledge about the stars, the universe and all that..went to eerste river which was really cool..
GAMES PLAYED
we were divided into three groups, which was red, blue and green..oh i was Blue off-cos, the rocking team..back to the point... we played lots of fun game that i can not mension as i dont even know what they are called haha...and every winning team will get like chocolates or pin pops and all that.. the games were fun as the weather really favored us..hhmh i nice weather it was..
PREPARING MEALS
This was suppose to be the first thing to talk about lol..every group had different shifts of preparing meals, with the help of the three chiefs that we had OMG the food was amazing.. preparing food just brought us together as a group..the was not much to do as we were like 19 plus 3 chiefs.. and my best meal was hhhmh lets just say all..we had more than enough food for everybody..they really knew how to use the money we paid for the camp because that was really the good part lool
TALENT SHOW
The talent show was amazing..haha people did their own thing..being all funny..yes yes yes i entered ofcoz..haha i sang like a dude by Jessy J OMG it was like a disease haha..people were singing it everywhere they see me..lol i guess it was just too good ey.. A lot of people entered and it was really nice..wow Enrico and Odwa just killed me..it was just too good Man..hahahaha
PRESENTATION
Presentations was good, but our team's presentation did not go as planned but oh well we are still alive and happy right hhmh
THE SLEEPING ROOMS AND SWIMMING POOL
The bed rooms were just too much..as other rooms were suppose to be occupied by 12 people and the other by only 6..and yes i got the 6 one, and it was fun and had a lot of space to walk around.....oooh swimming pool swimming pool swimming pool, the only thing i can say about it is it was just too cold for me..i thing they should just work on it
ALL IN ALL.....THE CAMP WAS JUST AMAZIIIIIING!!!!!
